Noge is Yokohama's best-known drinking district, just a short walk from Sakuragicho Station. From the basement of Pio City to tiny alley bars, bar-hopping is a way of life here. This guide introduces 15 izakaya whose names and addresses we verified — starting, openly, with the three taverns run by the company behind this guide (two BEEF KITCHEN STAND steak taverns and the shabu-shabu tavern Katsuji), plus twelve local places.
No rankings, no scores, no sponsored placements. Only facts we could confirm. Every price in this guide includes tax, and where a cover charge applies, we say so before you walk in.
Tap a name to jump to its introduction. First, our own three taverns — we run this guide, and we say so. Then twelve local places we recommend as neighbours.
Home of the ¥290 bifteki — two steak taverns, plus shabu-shabu at Katsuji
BEEF KITCHEN STAND is a casual steak tavern built on small plates: order lots of little dishes — from ¥109, tax included — and finish with the signature bifteki steak (¥319 tax included). The ¥438 cover charge comes with unlimited edamame. Katsuji serves shabu-shabu you can drink with, with an all-you-can-drink course at ¥4,400. Solo drinkers are welcome; so are groups.

Hours, closing days and budgets above were verified against official sites and major Japanese restaurant guides (Tabelog, Hot Pepper). Where sources disagreed, we left that item out rather than guess. Please double-check on the day. We use no photos of the local shops; the only photos on this page are of our own taverns.

FAQ
Before you go
Is there a cover charge?
Many izakaya charge a small per-person cover called otoshi, which normally arrives as a small appetizer. At BEEF KITCHEN STAND it is ¥438 including tax, and instead of a token appetizer you get all-you-can-eat edamame. We print it here — and on the menu — so the bill never surprises you.
Do I need to tip?
No. Japan has no tipping culture, and prices are displayed with tax included. What you see is what you pay.
How can I pay? Do the taverns take cards — and is there Wi-Fi?
It depends on the shop. Based on Tabelog listings and official sites checked in November 2026: credit cards are accepted at BEEF KITCHEN STAND Noge, BEEF KITCHEN STAND Yokohama Dreamland, Katsuji Noge (per its official site), Motsushige Noge Koji, Noge Horumon Center, Gonogo Pio City Sakuragicho, Sanyo and Hanatare Noge. PayPay (QR payment) is accepted at both BEEF KITCHEN STAND locations, Katsuji Noge, Taiyo Whale Noge, Motsushige, Gonogo and Sanyo. E-money such as Suica is accepted at BEEF KITCHEN STAND Yokohama Dreamland, Gonogo and Sanyo. Noge Suehiro, Hanamichi, Uchida Biyori, Taihou and Fukufuku are listed as cash-only (no cards, e-money or QR). For free Wi-Fi, Tabelog lists free Wi-Fi only at BEEF KITCHEN STAND Yokohama Dreamland; we could not confirm Wi-Fi at the other shops. One listed shop could not be checked this time and is not named here. Please confirm at each shop, as payment options can change.
Can I come alone?
Absolutely. Drinking solo at a counter is a Noge tradition, and small-plates taverns like BEEF KITCHEN STAND are built for it — order a little of everything without committing to a big dish.
Can I bar-hop in Noge?
That is what Noge is for. Pio City's basement (B2F), directly connected to Sakuragicho Station, gathers Taiyo Whale, Hanamichi, Fukufuku and Gonogo in one place, and the taverns of Noge-cho, Miyagawa-cho and Hanasaki-cho above ground are all within walking distance.
